What I do
From a specific problem to a working prototype.
Electronics & firmware
Microcontroller projects that read inputs, drive displays and control outputs. Work can include wiring, firmware, setup controls and fault-finding.
For exampleDisplay controllers, interactive props and simple connected devices.
Prototypes & practical parts
Bring the electronics and physical design together, with custom brackets, housings and 3D-printed parts developed around the way a device will actually be used.
For exampleAn adjustable mount, a project enclosure or a prototype controller board.
Websites & control interfaces
Straightforward websites, member areas and browser-based interfaces that make a project easier to use and manage.
For exampleA club member hub, a display settings page or a small project dashboard.
We start with the job, the budget and what a useful first version needs to do.
Personal & volunteer work
A few projects behind the business.
Personal and volunteer work showing how I approach hardware, software and the details in between.
Connected LED clocks
Illustration
LED-matrix clocks built as gifts for family and friends. Current development focuses on keeping the display running through Wi-Fi interruptions, adding easier settings and preparing a dedicated controller PCB.

Escape-room electronics
Illustration
An Arduino tone-matching puzzle combining inputs, status lights and game logic. Development included tracing missed signals and refining how a correct connection is recognised.
Prototype development
Adjustable printed hardware
Illustration
A custom blind-driver mount developed around fit, sliding adjustment, cable access and how the parts can actually be printed. Small test pieces help check the mechanism before a full print.

Club website & event display

Redevelopment of the British Rotorcraft Association website and member area, with the new site due to relaunch soon. Volunteer work also includes restoring a retired commercial display for use at events.
The current live BRA website is the previous version.

About
Dave Reeve
The engineer behind Reeve Group.
My background spans around 30 years in electronics, life-science instrumentation, medical diagnostics and chemical analysis engineering. I’ve worked across system integration, commissioning, acceptance testing, component-level fault investigation and field technical support.
Alongside that work, I build my own electronics projects and contribute to the British Rotorcraft Association as its Web / IT / Technology Committee Member. Reeve Group brings that practical experience to smaller, clearly scoped projects.
Amateur radio is another personal interest.
How a project starts
01
Understand the job
Talk through the purpose, constraints and budget.
02
Agree a first version
Define the scope and deliverables for a useful first version.
03
Build, test and explain
Check it against the agreed purpose and document how to use it.
Hardware partners
Building a UK hardware range.
Alongside project work, I’m exploring UK stocking partnerships for selected wireless modules, development boards and related hardware. The aim is local availability with practical setup guidance and support.
Retail range in development — no products available to order yet.
Manufacturers interested in a UK stocking and technical support partner are welcome to get in touch.
